My first recollections of Bay St. Louis come from summers durring college. Bay St. Louis is the first real stop in Mississippi for anyone eastbound form New Orleans. As a result Bay St. Louis has always had and continues to have a closs connection to the crescent city. I made my first stops in Bay St. Louis while visiting college pals form New Orleans and it quickly became one of my favorite Mississippi stops.

The Old Town part of Bay St. Louis, south of highway 90 was a collection of bars, restaurants and shops that could keep your occupied and entertained for hours. Sadly, pretty much everything of the Old Bay St. Louis vanished with the arrival of hurricane Katrina. National media focused the majority of its' attention on New Orleans and let Bay St. Louis and the rest of the MIssissippi coast fend for itself. The result is what continues to make Bay St. Louis such a remarkable destination.

Bay St. Louis is rebuilding and is very deserving of your visit. Visit Bay St. Louis as soon as you can. You can get in on the ground floor of a lifetime of memories.
