Oysters and shrimp are the mainstay of Eastpoint, Florida. Just across the Bay from Apalachicola and St George Island, Eastpoint is a holdover to an earlier time, before coastal development became the focus. Apalachicola oyster make up approximately 10% of the national oyster harvest and are one of the most nutritious foods you can eat. Franklin County, where Eastpoint is located takes in approximately 90% of the entire Florida oyster harvest.

You won't find a great deal of development in Eastpoint and many consider that to be the best thing about it. Come sit on the dock, watch the boats unload and maybe a little Jimmy Buffet or John Anderson will pop into your head. You'll never forget the centerpoint of the "Forgotten Coast".
