There is always something happening in Pensacola and the surrounding area. A lot of activity centers around the waters of Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico but there is also a lot that does not.

Pensacola, Florida is one of the oldest settlements on the Gulf Coast. There is a lot of history in this little city. That, along with a large young military population keeps Pensacola a vibrant city with many things for family, kids and adults.

Spend a little time in Pensacola and you are bound to fall in love with the place. The city sits right on Pensacola Bay and is only a very short car or boat ride from the Gulf of Mexico. Hop over to Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach and you are right on the beautiful Gulf Coast Beaches and the emerald green Gulf of Mexico.

5 Flags Speedway - If you are into Nascar and racing then 5 Flags Speedway should make the top of your list when you are visiting Pensacola. A great little raceway for some exciting local and regional racing talent.  
Bamboo Willie's Beach Side Bar - More than just a bar. Bamboo Willie's plans many special events that make a day at the beach all the more fun.
 
Blue Angels Practice - All you need to do as watch as the world famous Blue Angels practice their air show routine on most Tuesday and Wednesday morning from March to September.  
Blue Angels Air Show - The Blue Angels have several air shows in Pensacola. We used to skydive into the opening ceremonies every year for their homecoming show. You can also meet the pilots on certain days.
 
Catch a sunset on Pensacola Beach. You can also hop over to the Flora-Bama Lounge on the Alabama/Florida line to enjoy the sunset and be entertained by skydivers jumping in at sunset. I used to be one of those.
 
Edward Ball Nature Trail - The trail is located on the University of West Florida campus.  
Emerrald Coast Disc Golf - If you like Disc Golf this is your chance in Pensacola.
 
Gulf Breeze Zoo - Also known as the Zoo of Northwest Florida. Spend the day walking the grounds. Take a train ride safari

Gulfside Pavilion - Pensacola Beach - Tuesday evening, May thru September, enjoy Bands on the Beach concerts. 

Historic Pensacola Village - 120 East Church Street, Pensacola (850) 595.5985

Twenty properties on the Pensacola National Historic Register, ten of which are open to the public. You can tour the village and even book a special event such as a wedding reception in the historic village.

 
Old Seville Concerts -Thursday evenings May thru September - Bring a chair and enjoy a free concert every Thursday evening
 
National Naval Aviation Musuem - A huge musuem dedicated to the history of Naval Aviation. Even if planes aren't your thing this place is someplace you've got to see. Great family outing.  
Pensacola Raceway Park - Kart racing in Pensacola. Great fun to watch and to participate.  
Pensacola Colonial Archeological Trail - This trail begins behind the T.T. Wentworth museum in downtown Pensacola.

Quayside Art Gallery - 17 East Zaragossa Street, Pensacola (850) 438.2363

Sams's Fun City - Penscola's only amusement and water park. Visit Sam's witht the family for a great day of fun.  
St Michael's Cemetery - The corner of Alcaniz and Garden Streets, Pensacola Hours: 8:00am to7:00pm first day of spring until last day of summer , 8:00am to 5:00 other times (850) 436.4643 St. Michael's Cemetery is an eight-acre green space in the heart of urban, historic Pensacola, Florida. Probably in use during the late 18th century, the land was officially designated a cemetery by the King of Spain in 1807. Although assigned to the Catholic inhabitants of Pensacola, people of all faiths have traditionally been buried here. The cemetery is an open air museum that is a testament to the diverse history of Pensacola. 
The Oriskany - This retired aircraft carrier was sunk as an artificial reef on May 17, 2006. Already thousands of divers have visited this impressive reef. You can find a diver charter to dive the Oriskany by following this link to the Pensacola section of Gulf Coast Links.
