eBay SELLERS THINK YOU ARE STUPID. ARE YOU?

Check the ebay forums and you'll find multitudes of people voicing all sorts of complaints about sellers charging sky high shipping costs for their items. These people are wasting all sorts of time and energy trying to find out why a particular seller is charging high shipping costs when the answer is very simple. These sellers think you are stupid. All these sellers give the same lame excuses of only the best packing materials used, packing and shipping is really time consuming or the item is really heavy. Almost without exception these excuses don't justify the shipping charges costs these sellers are trying to collect.

Why are these sellers trying to collect such high shipping fees? Because they are trying to screw you and they think you are stupid. They want to insure a good profit by inflating shipping to cover a low auction price.

How can you beat them? Don't buy the items they are selling. If you do buy where there is a high shipping charge stated in the auction you have no room to complain.

If you are still having problems in the area of shipping charges here are some tips to help you.

HOW CAN YOU TELL IF THE SHIPPING IS TO HIGH

This is very easy to do. All you have to do is use your common sense. Everybody has some. If you haven't used yours in awhile you may have to dust it off and polish it up but I know you have some laying around somewhere.

Big heavy things and little breakable things are prime candidates for outrageous shipping charges but sellers will quote ridiculous shipping charges on just about anything. Your best defense is to know what it coast to ship something. You can go on the FEDEX, UPS or Postal Office web sites and find out exactly what it costs to ship an item. You can go to an office supply store or Walmart and find out exactly what shipping materials cost. Now follow along closely, if you know the cost to ship and the cost of the shipping materials, you know how much it costs to ship an item. Anything over that amount is what the seller is charging in excess of the actual shipping charge.

I recently read a forum entry asking why a shipper was charging $99.00 to ship a blanket. According to the complainer, the shipper justified the high charge saying they used only the best shipping materials. According to the complainer the box was a Post Office flat rate shipping box (the shipper probably got it for free) and there was n o mention of what other packing materials were included. You can speculate all you want about why the shipping charge was so high.

The real reason is this seller thinks buyers are stupid and, in many cases, the seller is right. After all, if buyers refused to bid on items with obviously inflated shipping costs, sellers would stop charging them.

THIS IS EXAMPLE OF A SCUMBAG SELLER. Stay away, stay away, stay away.

By the way, this is also a good example of a really stupid buyer.

HERE IS HOW TO FIGHT THE HIGH COAT OF SHIPPING

If you think the shipping coast is to high DON"T BID ON THE ITEM. The only way to stop sellers from charging high shipping charges is not to buy the items they put up for auction. If people stop bidding on items with high shipping charges these sellers will stop this practice. They prey on the stupid so don't be.

If that total cost is more than you are willing to spend for the item the don't bid.

Stop thinking of the item price and the shipping cost as two separate things. The shipping cost plus the auction price equals the total cost of an item.

If you want to complain, send the seller a message. Tell them "I was going to bid on your item but your shipping cost is to high and I'M NOT STUPID".

ENHANCE YOUR EBAY EXPERIENCE

Whether you know it or not, your ebay experience is totally up to you. Use a little restraint and common sense. Treat people like you want to be treated and youn should be fine.

If you see items quoting high shipping charges don't bid unless youf are willing to pay the high shipping charges and, if you are willing to pay the high charges, DON'T COMPLAIN.
